Ravindra Jadeja is out of the IPL for the rest of the season. On Wednesday, the Indian all-rounder was released from the Chennai Super Kings' bubble (May 11).
Jadeja picked up the injury while attempting a catch after running in from the deep against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4.

"He has an injury on his rib which he sustained during our match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (on May 04). We have only two games left and given his heavy international commitments, we thought he should not risk further injury," said Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise.
Jadeja, one of cricket's fittest players, is going through one of the most difficult periods of his career.
He was named captain two days before the IPL 2022 season began. Jadeja remarked at the time that he had "large boots" to fill, but that he felt confident in his ability to do so because MS Dhoni was still around and would continue to be his "go-to man."
He stepped down eight matches into Super Kings' season, citing a desire to focus more on his skills. Before Dhoni took over, Super Kings had won two of those eight matches under Jadeja.
