Bangladesh end Day 2 with 64-run lead despite late collapse

Bangladesh batting coach Jamie Siddons believes Test skipper Mominul Haque and veteran wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim will bounce back in the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh cricket team are now at the camp in port city Chittagong ahead of the first Test.
Mushfiq and Mominul, two of Bangladesh's most important Test wheels haven't been at their best recently. Both of them failed horribly in South Africa, but Siddons is certain that they would soon recover.
“Every batsman goes through patches where they don’t make runs. The way he is hitting them last two days I’m convinced he [Mushfiq] will make runs here this week. We are looking forward to watching him bat. I have seen a couple of really good signs, we worked on a couple of little things with him, and I think he is going to have a really successful series,” said Siddons during training session on Tuesday.

“I keep telling him [Mominul] he has nine Test centuries at Chattogram, and this week is another chance to make another couple. He loves this ground, and just trying to get him ready to go, and he is very confident,” he added.

Bangladesh has failed to win a Test match against Sri Lanka at home as six of the eight Tests between the two teams were won by Sri Lanka, while two were drawn.
However, Bangladesh, who won their previous home Test nearly two years ago, is sure that they will defeat Sri Lanka this time. The team is confident, according to the Australian.
“Challenges are that Sri Lanka are a really good bowling side, and a really good batting side. We will have to be on top of our game to compete against them and win the Test matches. Our goal is definitely to win both Test matches at home. We always want to win all our matches at home, but reality is it doesn’t always happen. We going to play good cricket, we are confident against this side, we are confident at Chattogram, play good cricket here, and that’s our challenge, to make sure that we turn up every game and play five days of good, hard cricket,” Siddons told media.
Team Sri Lanka will travel to Chittagong on May 13 before taking on hosts Bangladesh in the first Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium from May 15.
The second Test will be played at SBNCS from May 23. The two Tests are part of the World Test Championship.
With 12 points and just one win in six games, Bangladesh stand at No 8 in the points table, followed by England at No 9. Sri Lanka on the other hand are at No 5 in the WTC standing with 24 points and two wins in four games.
