Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan was confident and optimistic to do well in the upcoming Sri Lanka Test series, starting in May.
Shakib returned to the country on Wednesday to take part in the Super League stage of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for Legends of Rupganj. He was forced to opt-out of the South Africa Test series due to family reasons.
Shakib believes DPL would be ideal preparation for the Sri Lanka Tests and remained hopeful to do well against the neighboring side.

“Hoping to do well. Our goal will be to win the series. Although, Sri Lanka is playing well. However, I think, we are more likely to win. The condition of the two countries is almost the same. But I'm hopeful we can win the series,” Shakib told the media during a private event on Friday.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will square off in two-match Test series, which is set to begin on May 15 at the Zahur Ahmed Choudhary Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.
The second Test will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from May 23.
