Cricket Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, 40, who had been suffering from cancer passed away at Dhaka's United Hospital today [April 19, 2022], according to family sources.
In 2019, Rubel was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After a year and a half of treatment, he was able to recover.

However, an MRI earlier this year revealed that the tumor had resumed its growth. He had been undergoing chemotherapy since then.

Rubel debuted for Bangladesh in an international match against South Africa in 2008.
He appeared in five One-Day Internationals for the team. The left-arm spinner was a domestic heavyweight, with 392 wickets in 112 first-class matches. His last match for Bangladesh was against England in 2016.
