Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, Bangladesh's pace duo, are expected to miss the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka at home. In May, Lankan will visit to Bangladesh for a two-match Test series as part of the ICC Test Championship.
Taskin and Shoriful are both recovering from separate injuries that will take time to heal. Following a departmental meeting on Sunday, Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] cricket operations chairman Jalal Younus notified the media of the situation.

If necessary, the BCB cricket operations believe Taskin should be sent abroad for treatment of his shoulder problem. While left-arm pacer Shoriful recovers from a left ankle ligament injury, he will be undergoing therapy.

“There is doubt whether Taskin and Shoriful will be available [for Test series against Sri Lanka]. Taskin has injury on his shoulder and we are thinking to soon send him abroad for treatment. We are addressing the issue properly. He is currently under conventional treatment and if this is a lengthy one, we are thinking of the alternative and are in conversation with doctors in England,” said Jalal to the media on Sunday.
Visitors Sri Lanka will reach Bangladesh on May 8 and three days after landing they will play a two-day practice game in Chattogram at the MA Aziz Stadium.
