SLC appoints Naveed as Assistant coach ahead of Bangladesh Tests

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) appointed former cricketer and Bangladesh U-19 coach Naveed Nawaz as the Assistant Coach for a two-year term for the Sri Lanka Men’s team.
Naveed previously worked in the Sri Lankan route and guided Bangladesh to the Under-19 World Cup triumph in 2020.
Naveed’s first assignment will be the upcoming Sri Lanka Tour of Bangladesh, which will also be the first assignment of the newly appointed head coach Chris Silverwood.
Earlier, Chaminda Vaas was appointed Fast Bowling Coach, Piyal Wijetunge as spin Bowling Coach and Manoj Abeywickrama as fielding and support coach.
Mahinda Halangoda will be the Team Manager for the upcoming Sri Lanka Tour of Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka will play two-match Test series against Bangladesh, under the ICC World Test Championship.
