Tigers’ head coach Russell Domingo has tested Covid positive during the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa, confirmed by the chairman of cricket operations Jalal Yunus on Sunday.
Bangladesh's head coach has not been present for his home Test at Gqeberha due to illness that has kept him away from his team. Domingo has been recuperating at home and is in excellent spirits, according to a team source. He has also been in frequent contact with the team during the match.

The rest of Bangladesh's coaching staff, including bowling coach Allan Donald, batting coach Jamie Siddons and spin-bowling coach Rangana Herath, have been leading the team in drills through the Test and have been notable presences in the changeroom balcony and in the dressing room.
South Africa is also missing one of their coaching staff members. Before the Test, bowling coach Charl Langeveldt tested positive for Covid-19 and was removed from the tour group to self-isolate in accordance with pandemic guidelines.
This is the second time Langeveldt has been absent from national duties because of Covid-19. He missed last year's white-ball tour to Sri Lanka after testing positive within the then-required 21-day period that the Sri Lankan government required visitors to have been Covid-free for before entering the country.
