Shakib Al Hasan had to return home after playing the ODI series due to family emergency as the all-rounder has reached Dhaka on Thursday night with memories of a historic series win against the Proteas on South African soil.

Left-arm all-rounder Shakib has been going through a tough mental situation as his family members including his children and mother have been dealing with various illnesses in Dhaka.

The chances of getting Shakib in the first Test in Durban are very low. It is also uncertain to have him in the team in the second Test too, it all depends on the situation. However, Shakib expressed his hopes about the Test series against South Africa.

Bangladesh's national cricket team had an abysmal record of not winning a single international match against South Africa in South Africa until Wednesday at the Centurion, when the Tigers not only won a match but also completed a historic series win.

Shakib says, the main challenge is in the Test series.

“Test will be more challenging. We have been a good team in ODIs for the last 5-6 years, everyone knows that. There are also true wickets in ODIs. However, those who do well (in the test) (throughout the match), are more likely clinch victory. And the home team gets more advantage of condition in the test” Shakib said at the airport to media.

However, Shakib is hopeful because some of the top cricketers of the hosts will not be available. Due to the IPL, SA will not able to get service from main pace bowlers like Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi.

Shakib said "Since some of their key players are not playing, we can be optimistic"
