The Bangladesh Cricket Board president, Nazmul Hasan Papon, credited the team's historic series victory over hosts South Africa, rather than the board.
The BCB president stated that the board's role is to support the teams but that the task and performance on the field are ultimately up to the players and management.

Bangladesh made history on Wednesday when they won their first ODI series against the Proteas in South Africa.

“The credit goes to the team and no one else. The players and team management are behind the success. Of course, the board is there but only as a support let it be this [newly formed board] or the ones that were in the past,” said Papon to the media at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Thursday.
“Yes, the new board [formed in October last year] has new faces as directors and they are enthusiasts and trying to work differently but there has not been a massive change in the work done. End of the day it is the players who performed and the coaches were there to guide them,” the BCB boss added.
The BCB following Bangladesh’s magnificent series win declared Tk3 crores as bonus to the ODI team.
