Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal believes Taskin Ahmed’s achievement in the South Africa ODI series was bigger than playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Taskin claimed five wicket-haul in the third ODI and finished as the Man of the Series for his eight wickets in three matches against South Africa.
“He [Taskin] had a big opportunity to play in the IPL. It was a tough decision for him, he is still very young. You will never want to miss such opportunities. He is happy that he is being able to play for the country and doing well,” said Tamim.
“I told him during the presentation ceremony that winning the Man of the Match and Man of the Series is bigger than IPL and he has agreed with me,” he added.
Recently, IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants approached Taskin to take part in the upcoming edition of IPL as the replacement of Mark Wood. However, the right-arm pacer declined the precious offer for his national duty.
