Taskin Ahmed made his ODI debut against India in Mirpur in 2014, taking five wickets for 28 runs which is still his highest ODI bowling figure, the right-arm fast bowler took his second ODI five-for on Wednesday against the Proteas in South Africa.
Taskin bagged a five-for, was adjudged both player of the match and player of the series, which helped Bangladesh win an ODI series in South Africa for the first time.
Taskin returned with 5-35, his second five-wicket haul in career to bundle out South Africa, who won the toss, for just 154 runs in 37 overs.

Proud Taskin said in the post-match presentation that his strict process of improvement gave him his career’s maiden player of the series.

“I'm feeling happy and proud as we have won for the first time in South Africa. This is also my first Player of the Series award. I have been following the same process in the last one and a half year, I followed the same process today and hopefully, I will continue,” Taskin said.
“My captain supports me in every match and gives me a particular role, I just try to follow that. I have been working on my length and just trying to follow the basics. Still have to learn how to bowl on flat and slow wickets” he added.
Skipper Tamim Iqbal thanked all the coaches who worked behind the scenes.
Bangladesh team management recently hired Allan Donald as the fast-bowling coach and the instant result was quite astonishing.
“I am very proud, especially with a Bangladesh fast bowler getting Player of the Match and Player of the series [Taskin Ahmed]. I want to thank all the coaches who have worked with the fast bowlers, they have done a fantastic job” Tamim said.
