The biggest name among foreign cricketers in the Dhaka Premier League this time is Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan as Mohammedan Sporting Club have roped in the ‘Professor’ to Dhaka to play.


Hafeez arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday (March 15) afternoon. He will be available for the first match of Mohammedan against Shinepukur Cricket Club on Wednesday (March 16) in Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur.

“I haven't played ODIs in the last few years. But I was waiting for the opportunity. I believe I still have to give. I also have good fitness. I came here to feel the excitement of the Dhaka Premier League. There is also the joy of being able to represent Mohammedan,” Hafeez said.


Moreover, Afghanistan middle-order batter Najibullah Zadran will play the first three matches for Abahani, while the defending champions have also signed India's Test batter Hanuma Vihari.


Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza will play for Shinepukur Cricket Club. India's Ashok Menaria has been signed by Khelaghar.


Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club have signed India all-rounder Parvez Rasool who has previous experience of playing in the DPL.


Prime Bank Cricket Club have picked promising Indian batter Abhimanyu Easwaran. Legends of Rupganj have signed Gujarat's Chirag Jani.
