Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque stated on Friday (March 4) that New Zealand historic away Test win will boost their confidence ahead of the forthcoming South Africa series.
Test specialists were included in Bangladesh Cricket Board's Bangladesh Tigers camp in preparation for their away series, which will comprise two Tests and three One-Day Internationals. The rest of the players are now playing in a white-ball series versus Afghanistan at home.

"New Zealand win will definitely boost our confidence because it's a big thing to win a match against a big team on their soil but we don't need to think too much about the past. We have to focus on the South Africa series and there is expectations from people and now we need to see where we stand there,” Mominul said in a video message.

"Our opponents will not be judging us the way they had done in the past and now they are expected to treat us with respect (following the win against New Zealand)," he added.
In their attempt to prepare for South Africa, Mominul said the wicket in Bogura didn't meet their expectations as the condition in South Africa is totally different.
"Bogura's wicket is always good. Maybe the wicket was not built as per our expectations and the South African conditions are totally different from here," he observed.
