It may be a first-time appearance at the World Cup for Bangladesh, though the recent Asian Cup success of 2018 and experience of the Women's T20 World Cup has given Nigar Sultana Joty’s side confidence to shake up the tournament.

Arriving early to gauge conditions, Sultana has praised her group for adapting quickly, also taking on the advice from the Bangladesh men's team, who enjoyed a Test victory on New Zealand soil earlier in the year.

"We have had a lot of quality practice sessions here, we are trying to assess the wicket and in the conditions, I think our girls have done very well,” Nigar said.
