The Bangladesh Cricket Board announces the squad for the two-match T20I series against Afghanistan as opening batter Munim Shahriar and middle-order batter Yasir Ali Chowdhury are the two uncapped players in the 14-man squad.
The 23 years old Shahriar made 178 runs in six matches for Fortune Barishal at a strike rate of 152 in the recently concluded Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20 2022.
“Honestly, feeling very good. I will try to perform my level best and keep the place. The rest is up to the Almighty” Munim said to Cricfrenzy.

Yasir Ali also had an impressive outing in the BBPL for Khulna Tigers and scored 219 runs from 11 matches with a 139.49 strike rate. The series will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

Moreover, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib al Hasan, and Liton Kumar Das, all experienced campaigners, have been recalled after missing the last T20I series against Pakistan in December last year.
On the other hand, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Nurul Hossain Sohan, Akbar Ali and Aminul Islam Biplob had to make the way out.
