Eight Afghanistan players and three support staff have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh.
The development was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Monzur Hussain Chowdhury to Cricfrenzy.

“The official tour will begin from the 19th February. The kind of cooperation they wanted, we are giving from the medical. But the official briefing will be given by the Afghanistan Cricket Board,” said Monzur.
"Everything is being done by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. The board is cooperating in everything but it is being managed by them. We are doing the Covid test. I know a few positives are coming but we can't say the number. Because it's up to the Afghanistan board," he added.
Currently, the other members who have cleared the test have begun practice at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (February 15).
Bangladesh and Afghanistan will lock horns in the first ODI on February 23. The remaining ODI's will be played on 25 and 27 respectively.
