Ariful's second ton in vain as Bangladesh finish U-19 WC

South Africa U-19 defeated Bangladesh U-19 by 2 wickets in a thriller in the 7th place playoff match of the ongoing U-19 World Cup at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Ariful Islam's second consecutive hundred went in vain as defending champions Bangladesh finish eighth in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
Chasing 294 runs, Dewald Brevis starred with a brilliant 13-ball 138 as South Africa chased down the total with 7 balls to spare.

The 18-year-old broke the record for the most runs scored in a single U19 World Cup tournament, previously held by India’s Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 505 in the 2004 edition. While, Brevis scored 506 runs in six innings at an average of 84.33.
Ripon Mondol, Musfik Hasan, SM Meherob picked up two wickets apiece for Bangladesh.
Earlier, Bangladesh posted 293 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs after opting to bat first. Ariful smashed 102 off 103 balls, which featured three sixes and nine fours.
Prantik Nawrose 38 and Md Fahim and Meherob added 30 in the middle for Bangladesh.
Ariful hit another hundred against Pakistan with two hundreds he joined Anamul Haque with most centuries by a Bangladeshi in the ICC Under-19 World Cups.
Kwena Maphaka scalped three wickets and Liam Alder took a couple of wickets for South Africa.
