In the 17th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in Mirpur, Sylhet Sunrisers made four changes but were unable to improve their fortunes as they were thrashed by the powerful Khulna Tigers. With 34 balls to spare, Khulna won the match by nine wickets.
With a quick opening partnership, Andre Fletcher and Soumya Sarkar blew out Sylhet Sunrisers as Khulna have chased down the 142 target quite easily.
Following team captain Mushfiqur Rahim's criticism during Khulna's previous encounter, when he expressed his dissatisfaction with their poor beginnings, the pair formed a relationship.

In the powerplay, the pair contributed 65 runs before Soumya was removed in the 11th over with Khulna's total at 99. Fletcher and Thisara Perera, who remained unbeaten on 71 off 47 deliveries, bowled out the 44 required runs in only 3.3 overs.
Perera finished the match unbeaten on 22 off nine balls with his solitary six.
Earlier, Sylhet's Mohammad Mithun scored 72 off 51 balls for Sylhet, his ninth half-century in the BPL. With captain Mosaddek Hossain, who struck 34 off 30 balls, he contributed 68 runs for the fourth wicket.
Mithun hit four sixes in a row, two over the bowler's head and two over long-on. His fours were primarily across the covers, but in the last over, he produced a brilliant sweep shot off the fast bowler Kamrul Islam Rabbi.
