Minister Group Dhaka have clinched triumph over Comilla Victorians in the last game of Chattogram leg of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as Dhaka beat Comilla by 50 runs Tuesday. It was Comilla's first defeat in the ongoing Bangabandhu BPL.

In response to Dhaka's 181 for 6, Comilla lost their final eight wickets for 49 runs, collapsing from 82 for 2 to be bowled out for 131 in the 18th over.

Despite the setback, Comilla remained in first place in the six-team standings with three victories from four games, while Dhaka moved up to second after winning their third game in six.

In the 11th over Andre Russell turned the direction of the match, which was in the balance, by removing captain Imrul Kayes and the set Mahmudul Hasan Joy off the first and last balls.

Earlier, despite losing his opening partner Mohammad Shahzad early in the innings, Tamim was able to get Dhaka off to a good start after being called to bat. During his boundary-laden innings, the left-handed opener, who smashed a sparkling century in his previous outing against Sylhet Sunrisers, looked to be in sublime shape.

Tamim, who hit two fours and three maximums in his innings, did everything right and looked threatening until he mistimed one straight to short midwicket in the 11th over.

With Tamim laying the foundation, Mahmudullah was able to capitalize with a spectacular knock at the conclusion.

The Dhaka captain batted until the end, thumping three boundaries and four sixes to help his team reach a respectable total.
