Six members of India U-19 in isolation over Covid-19 concerns

Six members of the India Under-19 have tested positive for Covid-19 during the ongoing  ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022. It was confirmed by the BCCI.


According to the BCCI, Sidharth Yadav has returned positive on an RT-PCR Test, while the Rapid-Antigen test results of Yash Dhull, Aaradhya Yadav and SK Rasheed also returned positive.

Manav Parakh and Vasu Vats returned negative results, but are showing symptoms and are isolating.


A BCCI statement said: “The Board is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with the management and the coaching group.


“The players will remain in isolation but will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.”


The Indian U-19 had started their World Cup campaign on a positive note by defeating South Africa by 45 runs and Ireland by 174 runs. The Indian team will face Uganda in their final Group B fixture on January 21.
