Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni put on a record seventh-wicket stand, while Nahida Akter became the first Bangladeshi woman to achieve the best-ever bowling figure in T20Is, as the Tigresses thrashed Kenya in their second encounter in the 2022 Commonwealth Games qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur today (Wednesday).

Despite a bumpy start, Bangladesh defeated Kenya by an innings and 80 runs at the Kinrara Academy Oval. Following their eight-wicket thrashing of hosts Malaysia in the tournament opener, the Tigresses have won their second match in a row.

Bangladesh bowlers once again did an outstanding job in defending a small score of 125, as all five bowlers deployed by the Tigresses were among the wickets. In 12.4 overs, they bowled Kenya out for 45 runs.

Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni's resilient 75-run stand for the seventh wicket, Bangladesh posted a respectable total in 20 overs. The unbeaten stand between Salma and Ritu is now the highest partnership in Women's T20Is for the seventh wicket.

After a resolute batting performance from Ritu and Salma, Nahida proved to be the destroyer in chief with the ball in hand, claiming a fifer and assisting Bangladesh in chasing Kenya down for a low total.
