Mushfiq-Joy warm up with fifties against NZ as game ends in draw

Match between Bangladesh and New Zealand XI has ended in a draw with Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mushfiqur Rahim registering half-centuries in the two-day warm-up match at Mount Maunganui, Tauranga Wednesday.


Bangladesh scored 269-8 (76.4 overs) in reply to New Zealand's 146-7 in the first innings.

Mushfiqur scored 66 off 91 balls which included 7 fours and one six while Joy smashed 11 fours to score 66 off 131 deliveries.


Liton, who fell short of just nine runs failed to hit a half-century, played a knock of 41 off 68 balls, struck seven boundaries.


Earlier, only 27.3 overs were bowled on the first day of the practice match. Bangladesh pacers Abu Jayed Rahi and Taskin Ahmed bowled well in the rain-affected conditions and restricted the host on 71-5 when rain stopped play.


Right-arm pacer Jayed was the pick of the bowling attack and took three wickets conceding 27 runs.
