Athar inspires young Tigers to play better than Mashrafe-Shakib

Former cricketer and prominent commentator Athar Ali Khan encouraged the U-19 cricketers to prepare and play better than greats like Shakib al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hosted a friendly match featuring former cricketers on the occasion of the victory day.

Bangladesh U-19 team were also present at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur to spectate the friendly match of the former cricketers. At that time Athar, who top-scored for the side with 60 off 55 deliveries spoke with young cricketers.
“You are the future of cricket. Everyone has a dream of playing in the national team. However, the next stage after the under-19 team is actually very different. So, you all have to work hard. Keep in mind that you all have to play better than Mushfiqur-Mashrafe-Shakib-Tamim," said Athar Ali.
“They have served Bangladesh for a long time. Although they have not won any ICC title or any big trophy, they have made a great contribution to make Bangladesh a strong team,” he said.
When he was asked about how to perform better than them, Athar Ali said, "Try, work hard, believe! You have to make runs also take wickets,” he added.
