Bangladesh Test team have to quarantine for three more days in Christchurch. The decision was taken by the Ministry of Health New Zealand on Friday. Team operations manager Nafees Iqbal confirmed the matter in a video message.
All the members of the Bangladesh team began practice after completing their mandatory seven-day isolation period yesterday and underwent the Covid-19 test where all returned negative.

Except, the spin-bowling coach Rangana Herath, who returned positive in the Covid-19 test and eight other members of the Bangladesh team who were isolated as they boarded the same flight to New Zealand alongside a person who had tested positive for the virus.
Although the players returned negative, everyone has been suggested to undergo three more days in room quarantine by the Ministry of Health. They are also restricted to practice and going to the gymnasium.
“The quarantine was reduced to seven days by an agreement before our visit. It was always 10-day quarantine. It had seven days under MIQ and you have to stay in isolation at the hotel for three days,” said Nafees.
Bangladesh will play the first Test match on January 1, following that the second and final Test of the series will start on January 9 in Christchurch.
