Bangladesh will host Afghanistan for three-match ODI and two T20I matches in February-March next year.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) released the FTP and according to it, the ODIs will be part of the ICC Super League, which counts towards the qualification for the 2023 World Cup.
The Super League is a 13-team tournament, which will happen over a period of two years and eventually determine the teams that qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Afghanistan will travel to India to play a three-match ODI series before the Indian Premier League (IPL) in March.
After the Taliban takeover, Afghanistan cricket has been severely hit with several tournaments getting called off. However, in January next year, the team is scheduled to host The Netherlands in Qatar for a three-match ODI series.
Afghanistan are set to play 37 ODIs and 12 T20Is in the two-year cycle. Apart from this, they will also take part in 3 Test matches as well.
“We are pleased to announce our FTP schedule for 2022-23. This includes a total of 37 ODIs, 12 T20Is & 3 Tests in the period. Moreover, the national team will be taking part in various ICC & ACC events in two years,” tweeted the official handle of Afghanistan Cricket.
