Bangladesh scored 76 runs losing seven wickets in reply to Pakistan's 300 runs at stumps during the fourth day of the second Test at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium on Tuesday.

The last session was compelled to stop early due to bad light. Bangladesh are still trailing by 224 runs at end of the day's play.

Pakistan left-arm spinner Sajid Khan scalped six wickets for the side to wreak havoc in Bangladesh's batting line-up. 

Bangladesh lost three early wickets as left-arm spinner Sajid removed debutant Mahmudul Hassan (0), Shadman Islam (3) while skipper Mominul Haque (1) was run out at the draw of the second session.

Sajid took four more wickets and completed his maiden five-wicket haul after the Tea break as he returned Mushfiqur (5), Liton Das (6), Najmul Hossain Shanto (30 off 50) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz for naught.

Shakib al Hasan and Taijul Islam remained undefeated on the crease with 23 and 0 respectively as Bangladesh still needed 25 runs to avoid the follow-on.

Pakistan were forced to switch to an all-spin attack after just one over from Shaheen Shah Afridi due to insufficient light.

Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam both hit fifties and amassed a 103-run partnership for the fourth wicket stand before Pakistan declared their innings 300-4.

Rizwan was unbeaten on 53 off 94 balls while Fawad faced 96 balls to score 50.

Bangladesh pacers Ebadot Hossain and Khaled Ahmed have strike early to remove overnight batters Babar Azam and Azhar Ali.

Azhar Ali returned to the pavilion in the second over of the day when he tried to pull but eventually managed a top edge which was caught by the wicket-keeper off Ebadot.
