Persistent rain forces early stumps on Day 2

Cyclone Jawad has begun to affect Bangladesh. The second day between hosts Bangladesh and Pakistan has been called off due to rain and wet outfield at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium on Sunday.


Lunch was taken at 11:25 am local time after play was suspended during the first session of the second day. The rain interrupted again only after 30 minutes of the game during the second session.

The session was suspended after 6.2 overs when the visitors were on 188 for 2 wickets.


Pakistan skipper Babar Azam who hit a fifty on the opening day carried the innings to 71 runs and Azhar Ali completed his half-century and was unbeaten on 52 runs.


The overnight batters added 118 runs for the unbroken third-wicket stand.


Earlier, Pakistan have scored 161 runs losing two wickets after 57 overs with Babar unbeaten on 60 alongside Azhar Ali 36 not out at tea on day one against hosts before bad light stopped the day's play
