Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistani cricket legend, has slammed Bangladesh cricket for failing to improve competition among their players. The 51-year-old believes that the side still relies on familiar faces from previous seasons, with newcomers having stopped surfacing into the team.

Following Pakistan's 3-0 thrashing of Bangladesh on Monday, he made the statement.

The Babar Azam-led team won the series after a nail-biting third T20I triumph in Dhaka. Pakistan's whitewash over Bangladesh was ensured by Mohammad Nawaz's boundary on the final ball of the game.

As a host nation, Bangladesh should improve its playing conditions and pitches, according to the former Pakistani captain. Inzamam also criticized the fact that the same group of three or four players have been contributing to the team for the previous eight years or so. While stating that Bangladesh's cricket has to develop,

“If I talk about Bangladesh's perspective, I feel that they still have those 3-4 set of players who have been playing and contributing to the team since past 6-7 years. They (Bangladesh) haven't improved their conditions, pitches and not even the competition in the side. I feel that the new players have stopped surfacing into their side,” Inzamam said in a video on his official YouTube channel 'Inzaman ul Haq - The Match Winner'.

"They have the same faces contributing to them, and a few of them weren't even playing in this series (referring to the absence of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim). I think Bangladesh should ponder over this situation and look to improve their cricket," Inzamam added.

After the match, another Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi took his twitter account and criticized Bangladesh pitches.
