Following the disastrous T20 World Cup campaign, the T20 captain Mahmudullah Riyad sees the three-match T20 series as a great opportunity for Bangladesh to prove their worth.
Having suffered defeat in all the Super-12 matches and a qualifying round match against Scotland, the Tigers would eye to make a comeback with the home series.
“The wicket seemed to be good. I hope it will be a good wicket. Yes, this is definitely one of the biggest challenges after the World Cup. This series is a good opportunity to play good cricket and prove our worth,” said the T20 skipper.

Mahmudullah’s side is comparatively a new side consisting of young cricketers like Saif Hassan, Shohidul Islam, Akbar Ali and Yasir Ali Rabbi. In addition, Najmul Hossain Shanto and leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob also made a return to the T20 squad.
Bangladesh will miss the service of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin due to injuries. While top-order batters Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar have been dropped due to poor performance in the T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim was rested by the selectors to prepare for the two-match Test series.
“It’s a very young team. Experience always helps the team, since there is no Shakib, no Mushfiqur, I never feel uncomfortable while making decisions, of course, their advice would come in handy and we can share our opinions freely. But I don't think there is any need to worry about it. I will use my own experiences," he added.
Bangladesh and Pakistan will lock horns in the first T20 on November 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The next two matches will be played on November 20 and 22 in Mirpur respectively.
