Bangladesh Women thrash Zimbabwe by 9 wickets to win ODI series

Fifties from Murshida Khatun and Fargana Hoque led Bangladesh Women to another win and seal the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo on Saturday.
The visitors chased down the mediocre target of 122 in 24.3 overs and with nine wickets in hand.

After the wicket of Sharmin Akhter on 8 runs by Esther Mbofana, opener Murshida put on an unbeaten 115 runs partnership with Fargana for the second wicket.
Murshida was unbeaten on 51 runs off 65 with 8 boundaries and Fargana faced 68 balls to score 53 aided by seven fours and a six. At the end, the unbeaten knocks helped Bangladesh score 125 losing one wicket.
Earlier, the visitors elected to bat first and managed to score 121 for the loss of all wickets. Bangladesh bowlers had complete control of the ground as Nahida Akter scalped three wickets while Salma Khatun and Jahanara Alam took a couple of wickets for Bangladesh.
Nahida returned stunning figures took three wickets in 9.4 overs leaking only 30 runs with an economy of 3.10.
Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Gwanzura was the highest scorer of the innings, who scored 35 off 80 balls while Modester Mupachikwa played a knock of 33 runs off 51 deliveries.
