The Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) is set to begin from the first week of December. Khaled Mahmud Sujon, director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and chairman of the game development committee confirmed to media on Thursday.
The newly appointed director of the national team also remarked the upcoming BCL will start as 50-over game and it will proceed in a four-day format.

“We have to organize BCL and we are thinking to start between 7-10 December. This time the ODI format is also being considered. Since the Premier League has not been played in ODI format for a long time also the (franchisees) wanted to arrange in T20 format. We don't even have time to finish the double league tournament as we have BPL ahead,”
Sujon also said that he wants to make bouncy wickets for the upcoming tournament.
“Grounds have been told to make good and bouncy wickets. We can now decide which field we will play,” said Sujon.
The BCL was organized in one-day format instead of a four-dayer in 2015. The champion of the tournament was Islami Bank East Zone.
