England’s James Vince has replaced Jason Roy in the squad after it was approved by the Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
Right-hand batter Vince has played 13 Tests, 19 ODIs and 13 T20Is for England, he was named as a replacement after Roy was ruled out due to a calf injury.

This was the second injury that England have faced in two consecutive matches having earlier lost death-over specialist in Tymal Mills.
Vince was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of COVID-19 quarantine requirements.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 consists of Chris Tetley (Head of Events, Chair), Clive Hitchcock (ICC Senior Cricket Operations Manager), Rahul Dravid and Dhiraj Malhotra (BCCI Representatives), Simon Doull and Ian Bishop (Independent Members).
England will take on New Zealand in the semi-final clash on November 10 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
