Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has to stay away from cricket for six weeks owing to an old back injury, as a result, he will miss the upcoming Pakistan series.

The development was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief physician Debashish Chowdhury to the media on Friday.

He also stated wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan is safe and will recover from the injury before the Pakistan series.

Saifuddin picked up five wickets across Bangladesh’s opening four games of the tournament, then he was ruled out after picking up a back injury during the match against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh will play a three-match T20I series and two Test matches against Pakistan at home and the first match will take place on November 19 at SBNS, Mirpur.

The two-match Test series will be part of the 2021-23 ICC World Test Championship.
