SL clinch ODI series against Bangladesh U-19

Sri Lanka U-19 sealed the five-match ODI series by registering a 3-wicket win against Bangladesh U-19 in the third ODI at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday.


Shevon Daniels' 85 and Wanuja Sahan’s 38 guided the side to victory as they chased down the target of 185 runs with three wickets and 20 balls to spare.


Shevon was unbeaten on 85 off 117 balls aided by 7 fours and a six, while Sahan faced 53 balls to score 38 with two boundaries.

Mushfik Hasan scalped three wickets and Ahosan Habib took a couple of wickets for Bangladesh.


Earlier, the visitors did not start well opting to bat first as they lost wickets at regular pattern through the innings. Bangladesh lost 4 wickets to cross 50 run-mark and further lost two more wickets to set 71 runs on the board. Then, Ashikur Zaman and Naimur Rohman put on 77-run partnership for the ninth wicket.


Before that, Ashikur added 26 runs with Ahosan for the eight-wicket stand. Ahosan returned for 33 runs off 54 balls. While Naimur was dismissed after playing a knock of 27 runs off 46 with two boundaries.


Ashikur made a half-century and remained unbeaten on 54 faced 73 balls aided by 7 fours. In the end, Bangladesh managed to score 184 losing all wickets.


Vinuja Ranpaul and Raveen de Silva bagged three wickets while Wanuja Sahan took a couple of wicket for Sri Lanka U-19.
