Shakib joins national team after finishing IPL

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has joined the T20 world cup squad at Oman after finishing Indian Premier League (IP) on Saturday.


The development was confirmed to Cricfrenzy by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media manager Rabid Imam.

Shakib was featured for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, he appeared in 8 matches for the franchises where he made only 47 runs and took 4 wickets in the 2021 season.


He was also featured in the final against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), though his side suffered a 27-run loss at the mega event.


Bangladesh will start their T20 World Cup Qualifiers campaign against Scotland. The match will be played at the Oman Cricket Academy ground in Muscat on October 17.


The Tigers will face Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 19 and 21 respectively.
