SL's final 15-man squad for WC announced

Sri Lanka's final 15-men squad for the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2021 includes Lahiru Kumara, Binura Fernando, and Akila Dananjaya. Initially, the trio was named in Sri Lanka's reserves, who were to accompany the squad as injury backup.
However, Sri Lanka Cricket revealed their final squad on Sunday (October 10), leaving out Kamindu Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep, Praveen Jayawickrama, Minod Bhanuka, Ashen Bandara, Lakshan Sandakan, and Ramesh Mendis from the initial 19-man team.

Pulina Tharanga is one of the four reserve players listed initially, however there are no reserves named this time.
Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis, and Danushka Gunathilaka, who were banned for a year for breaking the Covid-19 guidelines during their tour of England in July, are the most notable withdrawals from the squad.
Sri Lanka will kick off their campaign in Abu Dhabi on October 18 against Namibia. Along with Ireland and the Netherlands, they are members of Group A.
