Nazmul Hasan Papon has been elected President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the fourth time in a row. The BCB president said that he wants to see the Bangladesh team at number five in the ICC ODI rankings.
Bangladesh is at number seven position in the ICC ODI rankings. The tigers are ahead of World champions like West Indies and Sri Lanka in ODI rankings.

“Currently the team is doing good in ODIs out of the three formats. We are good but we are not the kind of team that would say we are exceptional. We are definitely better than before. We are at number seven above the World cup winning teams Sri Lanka and the West Indies,” said Papon.
“Our next target is to reach number five. We can achieve... if we do the work we have to do to get to that place. Our target is to go to number five. That’s why we have to overcome many strong opponents,” he said.
Papon believes its is possible to improve in ODI ranking, however, he also said the Tigers need to improve more to make it possible.
“I believe it is possible to rise in the ranking with the current team. We haven't done the amount of work we need to do to get to the next level, we haven't improved. No matter how much we improve the facilities, cricket has gone far,” he added.
