Tamim ruled out of EPL due to finger injury

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of Everest Premier League (EPL) due to a finger injury. It was confirmed to Cricfrenzy by the ODI captain himself.


Tamim suffered the injury during the match between Bhairahawa Gladiators and Kathmandu Kings XI on Wednesday. He suffered a serious injury to the thumb of his left hand which will take at least four weeks to recover.

“I was injured during the match yesterday, my fingers are swollen. Then I scanned again after returning to the country. There is a crack. It will take at least 4 weeks to recover,” said Tamim.


Tamim has been sidelined for two months with a knee injury following the Zimbabwe tour. Later, he missed the Australia and New Zealand white-ball series at home.


Tamim also withdrew his name from the T20 World Cup to give young cricketers an opportunity, then he decided to take part in the EPL which started on September 25.


The left-arm batter played 5 matches for Bhairahawa to score 75 runs, his highest innings of 40 runs was against the Chitwan Tigers.
