Former captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy believes the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election is no less than the national election of the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Durjoy will have to fight against Syed Ashfaqul Islam Titu (Kishoreganj), Tanvir Ahmed Titu (Narayanganj) and Khalid Hossain (Madaripur) in the election.

"The thing is, the less the votes are the stronger the election will be. I compete for two elections. One with about four lakh votes, the other with only 17 votes. I think it’s a little difficult. Both depend on the people, or one's own work or what I have done, how much I have done for people, if I want to know the result, I have to do own evaluation,” said Durjoy.

“The tension works, and the vote is something that people think about until the last minute, and the BCB election is completely different. There is a matter of preparation, there is a pre-plan, there is a general idea about the game. It depends on the voters. Going inside the booth often changes the decision. We have to live in uncertainty,” he added.

BCB election is set to be held on October 6 at the boardroom of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The results of the election will be published on October 7.
