After being overlooked for the 2019 World Cup in England, Bangladesh paceman Taskin Ahmed returned to the national team, and his efforts for the Tigers in all three forms earned him a spot in the T20 World Cup squad in Oman and UAE.
The pacer expressed his delight while also emphasizing the importance of returning the favor to the team.
"I am really excited to make the World Cup team and even though I didn't play the last two series due to the conditions but I was able to play the last game," he said to the media Wednesday.

Taskin played against Zimbabwe in T20Is, although the home series against Australia and New Zealand were played on pitches that were not conducive to pace bowling.
Taskin, on the other hand, has been working hard to prepare for the World Cup and has a strategy in place. While slower deliveries have been the remedy for the fast bowlers on home grounds, Taskin believes that different deliveries will be useful in ICC competitions.
“As part of preparations, I've been working with Otis Gibson and the team management. We will also have some time to prepare in Oman and I feel that our team can do something good. We will get 10 days and maybe three practice matches there,”
“Whatever the conditions, we have to execute our plans. If cutters don't work, the execution of yorkers and length deliveries will be very important. Of course it's an ICC event, so we have to keep in mind that tracks will be flat or sporting. It will be challenging for the bowlers but at the same time if execution is good, there will be opportunities to do well," he added.
"I am very excited and at the same time I want to gift something good to win matches," he concluded.
