Ollie Pope released from squad for second Test

England batsman Ollie Pope has been released from the squad for the second Test against India at Lord's, announced by the England Cricket Board.
The youngster will be available to play for Surrey in the Royal London Cup fixture against Derbyshire. Pope was out since 2 July due to a thigh injury in a Vitality Blast match against Kent Spitfires.
"Batsman @OPope32 has been released from our Test squad for the second Test against India. Pope will play for @surreycricket in their Royal London Cup fixture against Derbyshire," England Cricket posted on Twitter.
Pope toured India with England earlier this year, having recovered from a shoulder injury, averaging 19 in the four-match series, which ended in a 3-1 victory for India.
On Wednesday the ECB confirmed that pacer Saqib Mahmood has been added to the team squad as a replacement for the second Test against India, beginning on Thursday at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
Spinner Dominic Bess left the squad and returned to Yorkshire as well. "Lancashire seamer Saqib Mahmood has been added to the squad as cover for the second Test against India. Spinner Dom Bess will leave the squad and return to Yorkshire this morning," the ECB said in an official statement.
