Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have announced a 17-member squad for the forthcoming One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan. The series will be played in the United Arab Emirates in September and it will also be part of the World Cup Super League.

It will be the first project for the newly appointed ODI skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and vice-captain Rahmat Shah. Afghanistan last played in the three-match ODI series against Ireland and won all three games of the contest.

Both the teams met in an ODI during the 2019 World Cup in England, in which Pakistan had registered a memorable victory.
