Bangladesh show all-round performance in the practice match

The warm-up match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe was called off during Zimbabwe XI's chase at Takashinga Sports Club in Harare on Wednesday due to bad light.
In reply to the target of 297 runs by Bangladesh, Zimbabwe managed to score only 189 runs after playing 40.1 overs before the end of the game.
Zimbabwe had been struggling since the beginning of the innings, having lost two early wickets with 24 on the board. Then Dion Mayers and Chamu Chibhaba put on a 52-run third-wicket stand before Myers was dismissed after a stormy innings of 42 runs off 29 balls. Ebadot Hossain took consecutive wickets, dismissing Myers and Inase Kamunhukamwe for naught.
The host lost five wickets to cross the three digits in pressure of the Bangladesh pacers. The highest scorer of their innings was Timycen Maruma, who was unbeaten on 59 off 59 balls struck three fours and equal number of six.

Bangladesh elected to bat first after winning the toss, ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, who could not play in the Test series against Zimbabwe due to injury. He opted to play the practice match and played a great knock of 66 runs off 62 balls with eleven fours and a six.
Tamim and Mohammad Naim made a solid start, putting 87 runs for the opening stand. Mohammad Naim scored 25 facing 52 deliveries, he was caught off Chivanga, however, helped Tamim cross fifty on his return.
Then, Shakib Al Hasan came to the crease to join Tamim, however, they could not make a big partnership as Tamim was returned by Wesley Madhevere. Shakib played patiently to score 37 runs off 60 balls.
Besides, Mohammad Mithun scored 39, Mosaddek Hossain 36, Afif Hossain 28 and Nurul Hasan Sohan 18 runs. Mithun and Mosaddek voluntarily left the field to let their teammates bat.
Madhavre, Faraz Akram and Chivanga took two wickets each for Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI series on July 16. The second and third game of the series will be played July 18 and 20 respectively. Following the ODI’s, three-match T20’s will be played on July 23, 25 and 27.
