Zimbabwe expect bouncy wicket against Bangladesh

With just one day left before the start of the Test against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh still could not see the wicket of the Sports Club field in Harare. On Monday (July 5), Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo lamented that the groundsmen did not allow him to see the wicket.
Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque came to the press conference the day before the start of the Test and also said that Bangladesh has not seen the wicket yet. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's acting captain Brendon Taylor, who came to the press conference shortly after Mominul, said he wanted a bouncy wicket in the one-off Test and expects the battle will be more competitive as they are facing the Tigers on their home turf.
“We would like a fast and bouncy track. Hopefully, find the edges. We don’t want to play into their hands with something too slow. They have an experienced line-up. It is the beauty of our home conditions. Hopefully, it can play into our hands a little bit. We know we are going up against a very good team” Taylor said.
“It is going to be a lot more competitive especially in our home conditions. We know our conditions quite well. It is always a big challenge playing in their backyard. Hopefully, we have tailored the conditions to suit us. We have a young vibrant team, and we are excited to get going,” he added.
Zimbabwe played a two-match Test series against Pakistan at home a few days ago. Where they could not do very well as a team. The veteran is hopeful to show better display against another sub-continent country.
“I think we were a bit rusty in those Test matches (against Pakistan). We were not up to the mark. We have done a lot of work and discussions since then. I think the guys are better prepared this time around. We are looking to stamp our mark with the bat, and do something for our bowlers to work with” he further added.
