Bangladesh will play their one-off Test match against hosts Zimbabwe on Wednesday as Opener Tamim Iqbal's old knee injury is back again. The left-handed batsman is still in doubt over his availability for the game, and a decision will be taken soon.

Bangladesh chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu said the team would take a final decision on the opener after the practice session on Tuesday.

Tamim was given a two-week rest after suffering a knee injury during last month's Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20. He missed out on playing the Super League phase of the tournament for his team Prime Bank Cricket Club.

“This is certainly a matter of concern. Because without a best player in team..I still think it might be understandable today. After today's practice session, it will be understood what the situation is. Nothing can be said in advance” Nannu said to media on Tuesday.

Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo also showed concern about Tamim’s inclusion in playing XI on Monday, said “About Tamim, we are still not 100% sure. There is still lot of doubt regarding him. I think a decision will be made in the near future"

However, in the two-day warm-up game against Zimbabwe Select XI Tamim batted 30 deliveries in the second innings of the game that finished in a draw Sunday.
