Bangladesh U-19 team are likely to face Pakistan and Afghanistan for the preparation of the U-19 World Cup in 2022. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)’s National Game Development Manager Abu Imam Mohammad Kaiser confirmed to Cricfrenzy that the BCB is also interested in hosting a series with India.
The Bangladesh U-19 team was scheduled to play a four-day and five ODIs against Afghanistan in March this year. However, the series was not played as Afghanistan wanted extra time for their preparation. Even the series of Pakistan U-19 were postponed owing to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Despite all the odds Bangladesh U-19 held a camp in June. But as the prevalence of corona increased in the country, there was no further camp scheduled for the team.
“We have a tour at the end of August. It all depends on the situation. Wherever we go, we have to see the condition here. We are keen to play with Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. Hopefully, we can start from the last week of August,” said the game development manager.
“We have at least four series in mind.' We could play a home-and-away series against Afghanistan. Perhaps the same can be said for Pakistan. We discussed with India the possibility of a series in November. 'We can set up a series there,” he said.
The game development manager added, “Afghanistan and Pakistan are interested in playing,. But now we must think about the situation. We will play a series at the end of August, whether we play here or in another country. It's almost confirmed. Another series will begin in October. This means that there will be a series every month.”
