The Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] will bid to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, one of the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s events from 2024 to 2031.
Following the 10th BCB board meeting, BCB president Nazmul Hasan told the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday that Bangladesh board has not have the structure to host extravaganza like ICC World Cup but have the infrastructure to run the Champions Trophy. The event's bid must be submitted as soon as possible.

“There are lots of issues [in order to solely host Men’s World Cup]. We will need to have 10 full-fledged stadiums. It is the same for whoever is interested to bid for the event. So that is not possible for us because we do not have that many venues. Hosting even the T20 World Cup solely is a challenge for us. But there is Champions Trophy [2025] which is possible for us to host. We have decided to bid to solely host Champions Trophy,” informed BCB boss Papon.
Bangladesh, however, is interested in hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup and ICC World T20, but only in collaboration with its ACC neighbors.
“It is not possible for us to solely host one-day World Cup or T20I world cup. We will try to host it jointly with our ACC neighbours like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We will speak to the boards because chances of getting the rights to the world cup increases if we bid together. There is a very short time in hand for this. We will have to come to a decision on this within a day or two,” he added.
