Abahani clinch DPL title after beating Mohammedan in final-day showdown

Anisul Islam Emon and Rakin Ahmed’s sensible batting guided Old DOHS sports club to acquire a 10-wicket victory over Partex sporting club in their Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League encounter at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Old DOHS chased down the small target of 78 runs set by Partex with 21 balls in hand. The match was decided to be played in 15 overs after it was delayed due to rain.

The openers Anisul (33) and Rakin (43) sailed the team to an easy win, they remained unbeaten on the pitch. Anisul scored 33 runs faced 33 balls, struck 2 fours and one six. While, Rakin scored 43 runs off 36 balls hitting six boundaries.

Earlier, losing the toss Partex had to bat first, scored 77 runs losing four wickets in the allotted 15 overs. The opener Hasanuzzaman departed for a naught, then Abbas Musa (17) and skipper Tasamul Haque (18) stiched a partnership of 29 runs.

Namzul Hossain Milon (17) and Dhiman Ghosh remained unbeaten after the final ball of the innings. For Old DOHS Rakibul Hasan ended up with two wickets for eight runs in his three overs and Mohammad Shanto got one wicket.
