Tiger off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz has become only the third bowler from Bangladesh to be ranked among the top two of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after a fine showing in the first two matches of their ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League series against Sri Lanka.
Mehidy has moved up three places to second place after bowling with the new ball and posting figures of 4/30 and three3/28. Shakib Al Hasan, an all-rounder, took the number one spot for the first time in 2009, while left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak, a left-arm spinner, was the only Bangladesh bowler to make the top two, reaching second place in 2010.
