In the red and green jersey, Mohammad Saifuddin usually bats in the lower order as Bangladesh team management has played him there in the past few years to match the equation of team combination. However, this time the pace bowling all-rounder wants a change in the batting order, he wants to bat five or six.
In 16 innings of 25 ODIs, Saifuddin has batted three times in seven down and ninth down, eighth down for ten times. This time he expressed his hope of batting higher. Five or six if possible. But it’s quite tough for him because at present Mohammad Mithun and Mahmudullah Riyad are playing in these two places. Still, he believes that if he continues to play well, that opportunity will come one day.

“Of course how the team wants I’m ready for that. Be it number eight or number seven. Personally, if I am asked, I want to bat in number five, six. Although it is not possible due to the team combination. There are many experienced big brothers. If I can continue to play, In Sha Allah, the opportunity will come,” Saifuddin said in a video massage on Monday.

Saifuddin has contributed in both batting and bowling in Bangladesh's victory in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Batting nine, he played an unbeaten 13-run innings off just 9 balls, while he took 2 wickets.
However, Saifuddin made partnership with with Mustafiz in bowling. Saifuddin's job has become easier as Mustafiz has bowled brilliantly on the other end.
'We know Mustafiz is a world-class bowler. Recently he has been playing in IPL and has been successful. Bowling partnership is very important. On the other end, if a bowler bowls well, then my job becomes easier. It is very important” he added.
